We currently have two Community Outreach Coordinator vacancies. Responsibilities include providing bilingual English/ Spanish information and referral services, hosting educational and special events, facilitating volunteer connections, and providing community outreach programming to engage individuals, non-profits, non-governmental organizations, faith communities, businesses, schools, and other organizations. The Community Outreach Coordinator will work to reach special populations within the community including those who are low income, unemployed, or unhoused, and seniors, teens, caregivers, and people with disabilities. 
One vacancy for Community Outreach Coordinator will have a focus as follows: Specialize in accessing health, nutrition, budgeting, shelter, mental health, GED, ESL, Citizenship, and other services to improve community health equity, education, employability, and self-sufficiency. 
The second vacancy for Community Outreach Coordinator will focus on serving teens and seniors. Complete outreach at schools, organizations that serve seniors, and host conferences, workshops, and resource fairs for seniors and teens.
Under general supervision, coordinate information and referral services and community outreach programming, to link citizens to services and to reach special populations within the community.

Provide bilingual (English/ Spanish) outreach services through connecting, building relationships, and sharing program and service information with individuals, non-profits, non-governmental agencies, faith communities, businesses, schools, and other organizations. 

Serve community members by researching and inventorying local services and programs and making referrals according to individual needs.

Maintain a directory of local resources. May assist individuals and families in completing applications for assistance programs.

Serve as a liaison to non-profit service providers, linking residents to partner programs.

Serve as a volunteer liaison, connecting volunteers of all ages and abilities to both city and non-city, short and long-term volunteer opportunities.

Host volunteer and donor-based programs that bring food, school supplies, holiday gifts, coats, etc. to our community members in greatest need. 

Maintain relationships with farmer's market groups, food banks, community gardening groups, and organizations committed to health equity. 

Participate in the coordination and reporting of grant-funded projects. Develop a bilingual (English/Spanish) traveling resource display to use at events, conferences, meetings, resource fairs, etc. to promote Community Outreach, partner, and other City of Thornton programming. 

Coordinate gatherings to maintain relationships with area service providers.  

Serve on boards, committees, task forces, and attend community meetings in order to identify gaps in services and to conceptualize new programming to fill those gaps.

Collaborate with community-based organizations to host educational programs, workshops, conferences, and special events.

Develop, monitor, and evaluate program efficacy and cultural inclusiveness. 

Develop and distribute bilingual (English/Spanish) promotional materials. Provide translation and interpretation services as needed.

Develop a methodology for evaluating effectiveness of outreach programs and services. 

Prepare monthly and annual outreach program reports.

Prepare and submit a budget for program area.

Works evenings and weekends as necessary. 

Performs other duties as assigned.
